New Beginning

Its a new day a new beginning
Can feel the breeze
The chirping of birds calling
The fragrance of morning dew
Breaking free of what was holding me

Its another day to find my way
Another chance, wish to dance
With rhythm of beats, promising a treat
Looking forward to change coming my way
Holding hope and its not dope

This is my turn to let positive churn
Holding high my head like a fearless I tread
With a bright smile ready to head miles
With a song on my lips wont let this optimism dip
Can hear words of some, they say my day has come

Wish

Still can feel the pain
That grips me within
No matter how happy
The smile always falls thin
Have these wonderful moments
Which I can not cherish
This is just a dream
Is my wish..

Thought that I have left behind
The memories which clouded my mind
Each day I make a promise
I will let them be history
But the very next moment I find them
Staring right at me
This guilt of holding on when you ought to let go
In my eyes does it show

I am a dreamer and I weave dreams
When they fail do I scream
I wish everything's just fine
But will it ever be that you are mine?
These words I can never say
So I write with a hope
That read them u may.....

Disease

Here we see the people fight
For what they call just and right
In this state of affairs
The chill from the vibes
Pulling each other down from their chairs
But how thick is their hide?

Today they murder
Tomorrow they shout
No value attached to our soldiers
Thats their political clout
Masses hold no value
Minority appeasement and vote bank generation
Is their main issue

The lack of interest of unity
Eating from inside
The country
Like a termite
Its a disease that we are letting grow
Like a cancer spreading
In time its effect will show

Please Answer Me

Deep in the soul I search
Look for things unknown
Not knowing where they were
Kept in the secret door thats closed
Lost my way and lost the keys
Losing all the gifts I had with me
What I have lost was never with me
But what it is
Would somebody tell me please

There is an unknown hollow
Tell me what was it that filled it before
The water is now so shallow
I used to fish in it long ago
Things are changing
Winds are blowing
I am losing all contact with sanity
Why is it
Would somebody tell me

I am afraid to reach for unknown
Earlier adventures used to be a thrill
Now am scared to move out
Doing that makes me shrill
What is making me so
Was earlier my alter ego?
Is this the real reason
That I feel the feelings amiss
Confused I am please help me solve this

I can keep on laughing
But is it I that I am laughing at
Looking in the mirror
Is it the joke I am looking at
I a confused and mixed
Never felt lonely like this
In this crowd of people
Is there anyone who makes me feel fit
I am looking for answers to questions unknown
Please answer me am ithe only one alone?

Just because she will be a girl

Heads bow in front of goddess Laxmi
Fear the power, try and escape her fury
It is we who are called the civilized
But still so uncivilized we can be
We shower the love on our son
For misery daughter is the reason?
She who is yet unborn
Who can still not walk?
We move ahead in life
Use technology to commit the crime?
Not seen the light of the day
Might one day show you the way
She is your daughter
Your own blood
Do not murder her
The one who is still to see the world
Just because she will be a girl

Today in the country
There is for all to know
What our census statistics do show
The sex ratio going so low
With boys present but girls just follow
The numbers have a story to tell
The real world has a pleasant scene
The girls are no less than boys
They now shoulder loads of responsibility
Moving ahead in various fields
Times have changed
We should change our own beliefs
Lets celebrate and tell the whole world
Just because she will be a girl

I am the oppressed queen

I am the daughter of a dalit
Oppressed harassed
Facing the society and its filth
Money was scarcely in my hands
Now that I have power
On bundles of it do I stand
I have no mercy
I have no shame
Say what you can
I will never change
My community was downtrodden
Now I shall rise
I will collect money from any means
Give me way
I am the oppressed queen

All the lower castes are my brothers
The should also see
The life of poverty
Through which I have been
I rose through the difficulties
So I shall give them the same
Through the struggles
They shall win
A life of bare means
Which I want them to see
I shall take money for the statues
They shall see and bow in gratitude
Coz yesterday I was one of them
Today I stand tall majestically
Bow in front of me
I am the oppressed queen

Back off THIS IS MY COUNTRY

There is a ghostly silence in the street
The door is locked
No one there to even speak
Yesterday they were all shouting
Taking out demonstration
Trying to take over this very valley
I want to tell those very souls
Back off THIS IS MY COUNTRY

You raised a ruckus
When the security crossed its boundaries
Not that I support their act
But you must raise voice
When your 'own fighters'
Go and cross the line
I cant see your silence
Its showing your weak morality
You want to divide this heaven
This will not happen in eternity
So all I can say to your troubled soul is
Back off THIS IS MY COUNTRY

You can take it as insolence
Or you can take it as a threat
This is one nation
To save it from enemy
Its citizens can go through hell
Silent we are
But dont take us to be weak
The silence of tigers you can never understand
You shall all run for shelter
When together we shall stand
That day there would be a roar telling you
Back off THIS IS MY COUNTRY

If you are happy in the enemy's arms
You can always leave
For we dont want traitors
Whose morality is not clean
If you are staying here
Learn to respect the peace
It might not last forever
When through your cover
The objective is seen
Then the people who support you
Shall leave and scream
Back off THIS IS MY COUNTRY
